Flash vs Continuous Lighting

So far we’ve had two test shoots to help us start our journey from still imagery to moving image.

Flash:
We started by using flash lighting, and trying to direct the model to move slowly and in stages.

It was very difficult to capture a steady stream of images, that flowed from one to the next in order to create a movement. As you can see from the picture above the sequence is very disjointed.

Continuous lighting is definitely the way forward for creating smoother movement, and I think we will need to shoot more frames than 3 per second (how fast the DSLR can shoot stills).
