We had a video test day in the photography studio in the last week before Easter. The function of the test day was:

• To see how we worked as a collaborative team with video rather than stills/gifs.
• To see if using video changed the way we directed a model
• To see if we could use the photography studio successfully – rather than Epic as we don’t have access to it.
• To see if video was a suitable medium for what we wanted to achieve

The results:

We felt that the video was too ‘real’. It becomes too visceral, a bit grotesque and uncomfortable to watch. The realism of the video has taken something away from the work. However we did feel that by using a solid type of body extension we pushed ourselves out of our comfort zone.
